My name is Frances Blue and I am the counselor at Sand Ridge Elementary School.  I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from Appalachian State University.  My graduate degree is in Human Development and Psychological Counseling.  I am certified to work with students in grades K-12.

I met my husband at Appalachian.  We married while still in school.  After graduating I was hired in McDowell County, where I worked for three years.  I had the opportunity to work at a junior high school and three elementary schools.  In 1990 my husband and I came to Onslow County. I worked at Southwest Middle school for 4 years.  After the birth of two children I decided it was time to work closer to where I lived.  I transferred to Swansboro Elementary School and worked there for 4 years.

In 1998 two new elementary schools opened in the Swansboro area.  I was assigned to work at Sand Ridge Elementary School and have been there since it opened.  Sand Ridge is a wonderful school to work at.  We strive to create a family atmosphere.  My daughters Anna and Alex both attended Sand Ridge Elementary.  They received a solid education and are doing well academically.  I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with your children while they attend Sand Ridge!

This year I have a Junior/Senior in college and my oldest daughter got married in May, 2016.
