Best Memory: Perhaps my best memory was when an advisor noted how discouraged I was after I had moved to yet another state, setting back my degree completion date. She sat down with me and discussed an alternate bachelor’s degree and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I was able to accomplish both in the same time period. Sometimes what appears to be a roadblock in our lives guides us to untold joy!

I began my journey as an educator in Onslow County in 2004. Prior to moving to North Carolina I had the opportunity to teach adult literacy and ESOL. During my tenure in the Marine Corps, I had many opportunities to present training to the troops. Teaching is something that I have always loved.

Outside of the classroom my fur babies keep my husband and I company, while our son is away at college. I enjoy taking in the outdoors, curling up with a good book and whipping up dishes in the kitchen.
